Cerros was an important Maya coastal trading center during the late pre-Classic period (350 BC to 250AD).Partially underwater, Cerros shows virtually no additions to its structures after this period, indicating an early demise. One temple is 72 feet high.
Located just north of the Belizean border, Chetumal (pop. 208,000) is the capital of Quintana Roo. Chetumal is a perfectly safe place to venture off the main thoroughfare. If you do, you will find local Mayan farmers selling their produce. Chetumal has a Airport which link Mexico and Belize

Geographically, Corozal Town is located just to the north of Belize. It is strategically located nearest to the Mexican border. When visiting Belize via the northern border, you might encounter minor setbacks that could otherwise be easily solved.
